Smith (Anna Clapp Harris) House is built.

1804

[1805] Built by Samuel Clapp on the foundation of a 1636 house of Thomas Jones, which burned down in 1803, it is located at 65 Pleasant Street. The birthplace and life-long home of Anna Clapp Harris Smith, founder of the Animal Rescue League, the building is subsequently restored by Historic Boston, Inc.
